Hello! My name is Jorge and, like the title says, I am a Level and Technical Designer. I grew up in Madrid, where I spent my childhood plotting to, some day, become a game maker. The problem was that, back then, wanting to be a game developer was like wanting to be an astronaut. Nobody would take you seriously!

That didn't affect my motivation, and I trained everyday with games like Banjo Kazooie, Donkey Kong, Final Fantasy 7, and many many more, slowly but steadily honing my game skills. After lots of gaming and hard work, a Bachelor's degree in computer engineering and math allowed me to become a game programmer. My passion though, was in making games, scripting creatures, and creating crazy mechanics.

Two years after that first programming job, I graduated from the SMU Guildhall with a Master's in Interactive Technology, and started making games professionally. The Guildhall gave me the opportunity to be that astronaut, the chance to create those games that I dreamed about when I was a kid. And I am still gaming, still learning, and above all, I am dedicated to creating fun experiences that players will remember with a smile.

These are just some of the games that inspire me and motivate me when I am in the process of creating gameplay!

  • Death Stranding (PS4)

  • Bioshock Saga (PC)

  • Donkey Kong Country 2 (SNES)

  • Bloodborne (PS4)

  • The Last Of Us (PS4)

  • Metroid Prime (Game Cube)

  • Banjo Kazooie (N64)

  • The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)

  • Braid (PC)

  • Grim Fandango (PC)

  • Medievil (PSX)

  • One of my favorite games is Braid. My paper on Braid's Narrative was selected as a Platinum winner at the GDC Narrative competition (2015).

  • I used to be part of the staff of the biggest Final Fantasy Spanish-speaking website, back in the 2000s.

  • Although scripting is my passion, I love designing gameplay and levels as well.

  • I have lived in more than six cities, including Madrid (Spain), Helsinki (Finland), Boston (MA), Dallas (TX), Gainesville (FL), Seattle (WA), and San Francisco (CA).
